‘ask the expert’ interview: Stephen Duck

Below is a transcript of our recent interview with Stephen Duck.

I’m Steve Duck, Product Line Director at Aalberts integrated piping systems and I’m here today to introduce our FastFix technology range.

can you give us a quick Introduction to FastFix?

FastFix technology is a comprehensive range of pipe support, bracketry and fixings for all pipework installations. This comprises of three main product areas: substrate fixings (beam attachments, wood screws, concrete screws and concrete anchors, all ETA approved). We then have fixing rails and accessories, including pre-assembled construction rackets and pre-assembled rail fittings. This is all complemented by a complete range of pipe clips and insulation blocks, also often including quick fixing technology that can allow you to reduce your installation time.

is this a new range of products?

The Aalberts business has been supplying fixings and fastening products into the UK for over 50 years now. Previously known as FlamcoFix, this product range has moved from the hydronic flow control division into Aalberts integrated piping systems and is now being rebranded as FastFix.

This move started early in 2025 but from January 2026, the manufacturing plant, stock and staff are now fully integrated into the Aalberts integrated piping systems business.

why is FastFix a strong fit within Aalberts integrated piping systems?

This product range fits perfectly with the Aalberts integrated piping system portfolio. We have four product technologies, piping technology, connection technology, valve technology and fastening technology.

One manufacturer, one compatible comprehensive solution, one source for technical and design support before, during and post installation. This gives us a single holistic solution for building services projects across EMEA and APAC and a unique position in the building services industry.

what can be expected in future?

Well, we have ambitious plans to develop this product range, our processes and also to improve our credentials.

We’ve already calculated the TM65 content of a wide range of our metal products. These are available on our website under sustainability.
