“red goes green” for World Sustainability Day
- ,
At Aalberts integrated piping systems, we’re honored to contribute to the global sustainability movement, and our committed employees are at the heart of this effort.
This year, we launched our “red goes green” sustainability challenge to understand how our team members are already embracing eco-friendly practices. The results have been inspiring.
The ten-day challenge encouraged employees to incorporate sustainable habits into their daily routines. This campaign, which engaged participants from the Americas, EMEA, and APAC regions, was designed to highlight small yet impactful actions, reinforcing sustainability as a core value in our operations and culture.
This truly global campaign saw participation from the United States, Canada, France, Germany, Hungary, the Middle East, the Netherlands, Sweden, the United Kingdom, China, and Taiwan. The “red goes green” challenge featured 23 specific action items spread across five main categories: recycling, home living, cooking and diet, conscious consumerism, and transportation. At the conclusion, employees shared their experiences, and the data showed encouraging global adoption of sustainable practices.
Some of the most popular activities included 43% of participants opting to walk or cycle for short distances to reduce carbon emissions, while 34% minimized food waste by utilizing leftover meals. Recycling practices also gained traction, with 31% using reusable coffee mugs and water bottles, and 25% taking advantage of mixed recycling bins. This campaign fostered an increased awareness of how small, everyday choices—from unplugging unused devices to choosing sustainable products—contribute to a greener lifestyle.
Although our 2024 “red goes green” campaign has come to an end, our commitment to building a sustainable future remains steadfast. We’re excited to carry forward this momentum, underscoring our belief that sustainability is an enduring responsibility, not a temporary goal.
